Hello! My name is Candy!
I am a Filipino-American designer and illustrator based out of Florida. I am the owner and artist of Kawaiistarz and the Alex and Candy Shoppe! I love creating cute things that bring joy and inspiration.
What is Kawaiistarz? It’s a username I came up with when I was about 10. I was just starting to learn html on my own, ms paint, and had gotten my very first email account with JUNO (ancient I know). I had just gotten into Sailor Moon and I liked to draw cute things and somehow melded it into “cute stars” because I wanted to create cute characters like the show I loved. Another fun tidbit is that “kaway” in Tagalog means to wave so in a way, my handle is both a cute star and a hello star! The rest is history.
